The Red Barn Project Summer Immersion Program
The Red Barn Summer Immersion Program
For Independent, Outdoorsy, Animal-Loving Youth (Ages 11–15)
This isn’t a horse camp. And it’s definitely not a petting zoo.
It’s a hands-on, real-life immersion for curious, wild-hearted kids who want to do—not just watch.
They’ll learn stewardship, responsibility, and compassion while working side-by-side with animals, the earth, and each other.
What They’ll Do
Kids will become active contributors on a real, working farm:
-
Care for animals: goats, ducks, chickens, rabbits & rescue horses
-
Hands-on farm work: trim hooves, build duck ponds, compost, forage, tend gardens
-
Make farm-fresh goods: jam & other creations from what we grow
-
Run the farm stand: from harvest to setup to helping customers
-
Dig into science: vertical gardening, soil health & salmon stream ecology
-
Learn horsemanship: explore horse nervous systems, behavior & body language
-
Build skills for life: emotional regulation, body awareness & teamwork
-
Contribute to big-picture work: pasture management & animal rehabilitation
What Makes This Program Different?
This is a real farm—messy, magical, and meaningful.

They don’t just “attend” here—they belong. And they leave more confident, capable, and connected.
