The Red Barn Project: Summer Immersion Program

The Red Barn Project: Summer Immersion Program

For the wild-hearted, dirt-under-their-nails kind of kid.

They’re still out there. We know they are!

And this summer, we’re calling them home.

This isn’t a petting zoo. It’s not a riding camp with a set schedule and snack time. This is a working farm where kids become part of something. They care for animals, grow food, run the farm stand, repair what’s broken, and witness the miracle of stewardship. They learn by doing—and it sticks.

Here’s what they’ll do:

* Feed, muck, haul, water, scrub, repair, and laugh their way through caring for our rescue horses, goats, ducks, rabbits, and chickens

* Trim hooves, compost manure, build duck ponds, forage wild edibles, and learn to spot signs of illness in the animals

* Make jam, dry herbs, and learn how to turn the garden into medicine and meals

* Set up and run our farm stand—pricing, signage, customer service, all of it

* Study soil science, vertical gardening, and even salmon stream ecology

* Dive deep into horsemanship, including how a horse’s nervous system mirrors our own

* Practice emotional regulation and body awareness—because healing doesn’t just happen in people, it happens between us and the land

Who is this for?

The Red Barn Summer Immersion is for kids ages 11–15 who are wired for nature, curious, and not afraid of getting tired and dusty. It’s for kids who don’t quite fit in other places, but thrive here—where the work is real and the relationships are deep. We honor neurodivergent kids, sensory-seeking kids, and those who feel most alive outside.

The Details:

* Runs July 7–August 29

* Core hours: 12–5pm

* Optional early drop-off (11am) and late pick-up (6:30pm)

* Sliding scale pricing, with scholarship options

* Located in Monroe, WA at Triple Moon Equestrian

If your kid is the kind who talks to animals, rescues bugs from the sidewalk, or is always building something out of sticks and string—this might be the place they’ve been waiting for. If they are specifically called to horses, this is their place!

We’ve been building this program for over 30 years. It’s not trendy. It’s timeless.
